Wipeout is one of the most popular TV game shows on television worldwide. It has received numerous awards and honors from TV game show consortiums and has a large fan following. Contestants are encouraged to run obstacle courses full of physically and mentally demanding challenges meant to torment and humiliate them to the delight of the television audience. As the contestants run the courses, the show's two hosts provide chipper commentary about the progress and failure of the TV show contestants. The winner of the show wins a modest sum of cash and of course they also win bragging rights.
