America’s Got Talent is a reality television show that gives hopefuls the chance to perform, get their 90 seconds of fame, and have a chance to win it all and there is a new judge in town. Howie Mandel brings comedy, talent, and common sense to the judging table that David Hasselhoff never really showed that he was able to do while he judged seasons one through four of America’s Got Talent. We all remember eating Fruit Loops in our pajamas watching “Bobby’s World” in the morning on Saturdays. The man has talent coming out of his ears! There are many reasons why Howie Mandel is a better judge then David Hasselhoff. Some reasons are:
1. Howie has a career still- Working as an actor, comedian, and host to several television shows, Howie Mandel is the perfect choice when it comes to judging something that he is great at. Talent is his game and he has proved that with the many
2. Comic Relief- If you have not laughed at Howie Mandel’s jokes by now, you have no sense of humor. The comic relief that Howie brings to the show can fill two Olympic sized stadiums and then some. With the side comments with the judges and the comments to the contestants, Howie makes for a very interesting show.
3. Howie shows his Ego less- We all remember Hasselhoff showing off that he had a record, that was only popular in Europe, and that the fact that he is this “renowned actor” and that he was in two (count them two) main television shows. However, Howie Mandel has not shown his egocentric side and there is little doubt that he will ever. He is more reserved than Hasselhoff was ever.
4. More right as a judge- Howie Mandel has had a career for years and is still having one. He has more right as a judge because his talent is variable. Hasselhoff had a talent of Acting and, as Russia is concerned, a singer. That was it. Howie has many things under his belt that he can judge talent with.
5. Not just popular in Europe- We all know of Hasselhoff’s singing debut, and if you haven’t, you do now. David Hasselhoff is a star in Europe but not so much in the U.S.A. Howie Mandel is an international talent that has performed on many stages in and out of the United States.
6. Has performed in Vegas- Howie had and still has a career in Vegas. The headline show in Vegas prize is up Howie’s alley and he can provide insight to what to expect on the first night of performing, what to do if you are going to make it. It is hard to make it on Vegas but once you do, as Howie has done, it is an amazing ride. Howie Mandel helps with that.
7. Is more relatable- You have a comedian that has entertained children for years and has given many people the help they need to get on their feet as a performer. Compared to David Hasselhoff, anyone would want to hang out with Howie Mandel more. The reason why is because Howie is the type of guy that you want to bring into your home and be entertained.
8. Can recognize Talent- Howie has built up a reputation for many years and has proven to have what it takes to get Talent and move them right where the money is. Through all his years working for people to make a living, Howie has forced himself to recognize the talent and run with it. He has seen the good, the bad, and the ugly of Hollywood, Vegas, and all the other fabulous places any aspiring performer only dreams of performing for.
9. Great communicator with Contestants- He can really tell his honest opinion to the contestants because of the fact that he has been coaching young stars for many years. There are many people who Howie has helped make a name for themselves and he has pointed them in the right direction to help give them a career.
10. Funny Mannerisms- Howie’s Germ-A-Phobia is hilarious and the fact that it comes up all the time in the season and the jokes that he makes because of it makes for a funnier more exciting show then what David Hasselhoff could do when he was judging America’s Got Talent.
Howie Mandel brings a lot more fun to America’s Got Talent and the season has been great so far. With the season rounding the corner, we get to see more funny moments from the legend comedy styles of Howie Mandel, Piers Morgan and Sharon Osbourne. Together the team works a lot better and there is less tension on the board. David Hasselhoff maybe good to look at to attract the 40 year old women who remember Hasselhoff’s days on the beach of “Baywatch” but Howie Mandel is more contemporary with the younger crowd and the only to the range of audiences are not only limited to people in their 40’s and 50’s.
