http://www.wuphf.com/ - Get Wuphfed in REAL LIFE! In this episode Ryan and Michael take their friendship to a new level when Michael invests in Ryan’s new internet startup, “WUPHF.com”. In his eagerness for the new company to succeed, Michael has also convinced Stanley, Darryl, Andy, and Pam to invest as well. The largest investor is still Michael though, he’s the money man. Ryan tells the group that the company will run out of funding within nine days, but also has good news in that the web site domain has an offer for purchase. Ryan misleads the group about the nature of the “buyout”, making it sound like the offer is to buy the whole company, when they really only want the domain name. Ryan ends up selling WUPHF.com to pay back as much as he can to his trustworthy friends and faithful investors from the office.

Michael Scott is the regional manager of the Scranton branch of a paper company named Dunder Mifflin. He introduces a film crew to his employees. The film crew is there to shoot a documentary about office life. They follow the office workers around with their cameras, and film them doing every day office activities. This TV episode introduces all the main characters of NBC’s The Office. Among the characters in the first episode are; Jim Halbert – the bright but underachieving and cool sales man, Dwight Schrute – a maniacal and scheming salesmen who also owns a beat farm and refuses to watch TV shows. Ryan Howard – an intern and temp employee who is there to learn the ropes to help him pass his college courses, and Pam Beesly – the timid and soft talking but adorable secretary who is also the object of Jim’s intense desire and resulting aloof flirtation. Another main character (at least for the first few seasons of this TV show) is Jan Levenson-Gould. She is a big-wig from the corporate location in New York City. She is Michael’s boss and she comes to the Scranton branch to let Michael know that the branch might be shutting down. Michael’s first instinct is to comfort his loyal subordinates, and he does this by telling them that no one will be fired. In the midst of all this drama, Jim plays a prank on Dwight by putting his office equipment in JELL-O. Michael tries to pull a prank of his own – except his is on Pam. He goes a little too far while pretending to fire her for stealing office supplies, and he drives her to tears. After Michael discloses that he was only joking, Pam is visibly upset and disturbed at his cruel sense of humor. In later episodes, Pam and Michael go on to become extremely close friends and peers.
